April 17, 2009 Hello and Welcome to Spring! Yes, it’s true! Soon the vines will be budded out and revealing the promise of a new growing season. To celebrate this great awakening, Amalie Robert Estate will be open Saturday, April 25th, 2009 to celebrate Earth Day! Of course, Mother Nature has started her program a little early. Here are some vineyard flowers showing a little color, and the Spring Lambs from our neighbor’s pasture romping through the field. Everything is set for a wonderful week of activities and weather.
Earth Day is a special occasion for Dena and me, as it marks the anniversary of our vineyard. We finished planting our first 10 acres of vineyard at Amalie Robert Estate on Earth Day 2000, with the help of a few close friends. This year we can celebrate over 42,000 vines planted over 30 acres of land. Let me tell you, all those leaves convert a lot of CO2 to oxygen! The winery will be open Saturday, April 25th in observance of Earth Day and the anniversary of our vineyard. Dena and I will be pouring wines, telling stories and answering questions – not necessarily in that order. Here are the details: When: Saturday April 25, 2009 from 10 – 3 Where: Amalie Robert Estate – follow this link for driving directions http://www.amalierobert.com/driving_directions.htm Why: To celebrate Earth Day with “Wines true to the soil, Wines true to the vintage” Cost: Refundable $5 tasting fee with wine purchase All current release wines will be open for tasting and available for sale.
